NMR (National Milk Records) was born in 1943 and has grown into an integrated service provider working for both farmers and milk buyers as well as an independent source of data for third parties such as vets, farm consultants and breed societies.
NMR invests in an innovative range of milk quality, herd health and genomic testing services, generating data and building robust insights that empower farmers to make informed decisions on cow productivity.
In a high inflation environment, we are convinced that an efficient management system is key. We therefore rely on robust fertility, production and animal health data to enable effective decision making. Our services are designed to help farmers know the issues within the herd which affect efficiency and animal health.
Today, NMR tests 10 million samples of milk annually. This involves processing a bulk milk sample from 97% of UK farmers with every collection of milk made from the farmer. NMR is represented directly in England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland.
